The year is coming to an end. But we have one last TV premiere for this year that we would like to recommend to you. This time we take you into the world of film music: to a concert with Jonas Kaufmann in Prague, from the beautiful Smetana Hall.
On the 2nd Sunday in Advent (8.12.) at 17:20 on ARTE, you can look forward to an hour of film music hits from 80 years of film history. Starting in the Germany of the Weimar Republic (ICH KÜSSE IHRE HAND, MADAME), the program includes film music by Nino Rota (WHAT IS A YOUTH?), Leonard Bernstein (WEST SIDE STORY) and scores from the new millennium, such as Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack to GLADIATOR. Classics such as SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN or WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD are also included.
