Last year, “Beethoven’s Nine – Ode to Humanity” was already a guest at festivals such as Hot Docs in Toronto, the Golden Prague Festival, Prix Italia and the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival – now the film is going to Montreal!
From March 13 to 30, the “Festival International du Film sur l’Art” (Le FIFA 43) will be taking place there – and we will be there with the film. The co-production with our Canadian colleagues Riddle Films is competing at “Le FIFA”. So fingers crossed on March 16, when it will be screened there.
With nine people, from a deaf composer to a Polish rock musician to the director Larry Weinstein himself, the film explores the extent to which the message of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is still relevant today. “Beethoven’s Nine” is a film about music, but also about war and hope, and is therefore more relevant than ever.
