April 2020: Corona lockdown. The museums are closed. Only now it is obvious how much we lack art as soon as it seems unobtainable. For ARTE we visited the empty museums and had the curators introduce us to their favourite pictures.
The stars of our museums, otherwise besieged by tourist groups or school classes, are suddenly locked in and locked out. There are sad but also magical moments. And they give us the opportunity of letting our eyes, often literally blocked, wander freely again.
