Part of the series “Geheimnisvolle Orte” (“Mysterious places”)
With the Konzerthaus at its center, flanked by the French and German dome the Gendarmenmarkt, some say, is the most beautiful square in Berlin. Like perhaps no other square, it mirrors the changeful history of the city. Life on the square changed time and again – as did its face. But what of the square is old, what is new? What is original, what a copy? Many alterations through the ages are visible, when standing on the square and looking closely.
