What does Berlin sound like? The orchestra of the Konzerthaus Berlin took on the challenge to melodize typical sounds from its own city. The musicians impressively demonstrated that the preparation of a Currywurst sausage, squealing urban trains and the engine noise of an old Trabi car from former Eastern Germany can actually sound quite musical.
What is noise, what is sound, what is music? The experimental project we were fortunate enough to be able to conceive and to realize on behalf of the Konzerthaus Berlin, gave rise to many big questions during the course of its creation. The beauty of it is, that in the end these questions did not need answering. The result speaks for itself!
All clips are available at the Konzerthaus’ Youtube-Channel. And for those who want to find out how a crazy idea turned into an awesome piece of musical soundscape, we have the Making-Of right here.
