Brahms at the Rheingau Music Festival 2025! Conducted by Jakub Hrůša, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra will perform two of the composer’s late masterpieces: The Double Concerto for Violin and Violoncello in A minor, Op. 102 – Brahms’ last major orchestral work, written as a gesture of reconciliation with the violinist Joseph Joachim – and the Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98, which marks the high point of his symphonic output and is still considered a key work of Romanticism today.
The solo parts of the Double Concerto will be performed by two internationally renowned artists visiting the Rheingau: Renaud Capuçon, one of the leading violin virtuosos of our time, and Austrian cellist Julia Hagen, who is highly regarded for her expressiveness and naturalness. Together with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, they create an interplay that immerses the Kurhaus Wiesbaden in the powerful energy and warmth of Brahms’ works.
