Concert to open the 2024 season with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Joana Mallwitz and Sheku Kanneh-Mason (Artist in Residence).
Joana Mallwitz leads the Konzerthausorchester Berlin into her second season as chief conductor with a programme of dance music, which she believes is ‘perfect’ for the opening of the season. The new Artist in Residence Sheku Kanneh-Mason also makes his first appearance – with Antonín Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, which ‘adds a particularly festive element thanks to its familiarity and elegance,’ says Joana Mallwitz.
Programme:
Antonín Dvořák: Concerto for cello and orchestra in B minor op. 104
Sergei Rachmaninov: Symphonic Dances op. 45
The complete concert is available on the ARD-Mediathek.
