Staatsoper Unter den Linden

Staatsoper Unter den Linden: Elliott Carter

He was a phenomenon of the New Music which emerged in the 20th, and early 21st century. The American Elliott Carter was the first composer of international recognition that turned 100 years old – composing every day right until the very end of his full artistic life. In the last decade he has composed a series of solo pieces for various instruments, including strings, wind section, and piano.
These inventive miniatures are performed by the musicians of the Staatskapelle at special places around the opera house that are rarely (if ever) accessible to the public.
